CVS Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for Oak Street Health. You will be responsible for gathering all necessary patient medical information to ensure providers have accurate data for healthcare decisions. As a vital element of our model, you’ll be an important member of our Care Teams.
What You'll Do
- Ensure efficient patient flow: room patients, complete vital signs, screenings, and medication reviews.
- Manage inventory: stock exam rooms and supplies.
- Respond to patient telephonic requests for lab results, records faxing, and support.
- Administer vaccinations and perform point-of-care tests (e.g., A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws) per state regulations.
- Import documents into the Electronic Medical Record via scanning or PDF upload.
- Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
- Process orders for durable medical equipment.
- Request medical records from external providers.
- Conduct routine quality control checks, including infection control measures, equipment, and checks for expired medication and supplies.
What We're Looking For
- State or national certification (as required by state), or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
- 1 year of experience as a medical assistant.
- CPR or BLS Certification.
- Electronic Medical Record experience.
- Computer skills: ability to quickly navigate multiple programs including Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets, etc.
- Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
- US work authorization.
Nice to Have
- Minimum of three years in a Medical Assistant role.
- Successful mastery of workflow in a previous MA position.
- An appetite for expanded responsibilities, greater clinical experience, and making an impact on patients’ lives.
- 2 or more years of experience working with geriatric patients.
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification.
