About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing materials planning and inventory management activities to maintain optimal stock levels, support manufacturing schedules, and ensure supply chain continuity.
Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations
- Coordinate material requirements with production planning teams
- Generate and release purchase requisitions based on demand forecasts
- Track incoming shipments and verify delivery timelines
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies through cycle counts and audits
- Maintain accuracy in ERP system data for materials and stock status
- Analyze inventory turnover and recommend improvements
- Support procurement by providing material availability reports
- Work with suppliers to resolve delivery delays or quality issues
- Ensure compliance with inventory control policies and procedures
- Assist in month-end inventory closing activities
- Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and suggest actions
- Update safety stock levels based on demand changes
- Collaborate with warehouse staff on stock placement and movement
- Produce regular reports on inventory performance metrics
- Participate in root cause analysis for supply variances
- Maintain documentation for material planning workflows
- Align inventory strategy with production schedule changes
- Evaluate supplier performance related to material delivery
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in supply chain operations
