As a Materials Management Technician, you will play a key role in supporting large-scale, cross-border rail projects based in Naples, Italy. Your work will center on managing end-to-end procurement and logistics activities, ensuring materials and services are planned, sourced, and delivered in alignment with project timelines and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates for external expenditures during tender phases, supporting competitive and accurate project bids.
- Collaborate with cost control teams to forecast and track external costs, including materials, subcontractors, and outsourced services throughout project execution.
- Supply critical logistics and procurement inputs to shape the integrated project schedule and support planning accuracy.
- Produce and distribute essential documentation such as the Logistics Plan, Master Production Schedule (MPS), and Inventory Reports to relevant project stakeholders.
- Coordinate planning and material flows across multiple legal entities, ensuring timely availability of components, spare parts, and repaired items.
- Manage purchase requisitions and production launch processes, including transfer orders and advance demand notifications, in line with project milestones.
- Issue procurement requests for materials, services, and subcontracted packages to maintain supply chain continuity.
- Ensure suppliers deliver required planning and logistics documentation—such as Transport Plans, Procurement Plans, and Performance Guarantees—according to contract terms.
- Track supplier performance across production, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), shipping, warehousing, and compliance, escalating issues when necessary.
- Propose and implement corrective actions when deviations occur, particularly in cases of delivery delays or non-compliance.
Qualifications
You bring a degree in Management Engineering or a related field, along with proven experience in supply chain project coordination. Expertise in purchasing strategies, supplier evaluation, and logistics planning is essential. Familiarity with MRP/MPS systems, cost forecasting, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement practices will support your success in this role. Strong organizational skills, attention to documentation, and fluency in English (minimum B2) are required to thrive in a multinational environment.
