PCX Corporation is seeking a Materials Handler to play a key role in our plant operations. You will operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials, supply production lines, maintain organization, and handle scrap, working effectively with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do
- Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move loads throughout the plant and supply production with required materials.
- Disburse parts to designated areas and collect parts for orders and assembly requirements.
- Maintain ‘5 S’ organization of materials within the department.
- Deliver completed materials to specified areas.
- Remove scrap and waste material from the department.
- Read and understand production orders, blueprints, and routings to group materials for production.
- Access SAP on a PC.
- Operate forklifts, electric hoists, and other power equipment safely to load/unload trucks and move materials.
- Perform safety checks on equipment, including battery, brakes, and lift controls.
- Keep inventory and materials organized and accessible.
- Use material handling equipment appropriate for each requirement.
- Maintain safe operating practices at all times.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Skill and ability to operate all required mechanical equipment, including forklift training and personal computers.
- Ability to read and understand production orders, routings, and blueprints.
- Physical ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, sitting, bending, as well as pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 30 lbs frequently.
- Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
- Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment properly.
- Ability to successfully pass forklift certification training given by Gleason and/or an outside source chosen by Gleason.
