Sonoco is hiring a Material Handler for 1st Shift to maintain a safe working environment while transporting plant goods. You will report directly to the Department Manager and play a key role in our manufacturing and warehouse operations.

What You'll Do

Supply materials to the manufacturing and secondary assembly areas.
Prepare WIP and finished goods for transport according to manufacturing instructions, including stretch wrapping and strapping.
Transport WIP, finished goods, scrap, and non-conforming product from the manufacturing floor to the warehouse or designated storage area.
Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and document safety checks.
Load and unload trucks as instructed.
Verify inventory levels and perform cycle counts as directed.
Complete and maintain records according to production and quality standards.
Work overtime as required.

What We're Looking For

High school diploma.
2+ years of material handler experience.
Ability to maintain cleanliness of manufacturing and storage areas using 5S standards.
Ability to perform all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of quality and safety.
