Sonoco is hiring a Material Handler for 1st Shift to maintain a safe working environment while transporting plant goods. You will report directly to the Department Manager and play a key role in our manufacturing and warehouse operations.
What You'll Do
- Supply materials to the manufacturing and secondary assembly areas.
- Prepare WIP and finished goods for transport according to manufacturing instructions, including stretch wrapping and strapping.
- Transport WIP, finished goods, scrap, and non-conforming product from the manufacturing floor to the warehouse or designated storage area.
- Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) and document safety checks.
- Load and unload trucks as instructed.
- Verify inventory levels and perform cycle counts as directed.
- Complete and maintain records according to production and quality standards.
- Work overtime as required.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma.
- 2+ years of material handler experience.
- Ability to maintain cleanliness of manufacturing and storage areas using 5S standards.
- Ability to perform all duties in a manner that demonstrates the highest level of quality and safety.
