BMW Group is looking for a Master's student to complete a thesis internship focused on advancing autonomous driving technologies. In this role, you will develop innovative map-based visual localization solutions that combine computer vision, deep learning, and real-world map data.
What You'll Do
- Support the development and evaluation of learning-based methods for map-based visual localization.
- Review state-of-the-art visual localization techniques and analyze the impact of diverse map components.
- Contribute your research findings directly to the advancement of our map products.
- Drive the project with regular feedback from a mentor and dedicated expert team support.
What We're Looking For
- Current studies in computer science, artificial intelligence, robotics, or a related technical field (Master's program).
- Knowledge in computer vision and deep learning, familiar with modern vision transformers and scene representations.
- High proficiency in programming and debugging with Python, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
- Business-fluent English skills.
Nice to Have
- Prior project experience in computer vision or autonomous driving perception algorithms.
- German proficiency.
