About the Role

ZF Friedrichshafen AG is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Marshall, United States. In this role, you will develop, optimize, and support our Printed Circuit Board final assembly and injection molding processes, driving improvements in quality, capacity, and capability across our manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and support Printed Circuit Board Final Assembly and Injection Molding processes, analyzing and improving quality, capacity, and capability.
  • Perform root cause analysis, process capability studies, and implement process controls to ensure performance requirements are met.
  • Develop equipment, mold tooling, materials, and process performance requirements, including vendor searches and equipment evaluation.
  • Develop and perform Designed Experiments (DOE) and capability studies, create process specifications, and design & procure process tooling.
  • Develop process and equipment documentation and train personnel on new processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Provide technical support for new product launches, establishing process recipes, managing tooling procurement, and performing Design for Manufacturing reviews.
  • Apply verbal and written communication skills in periodic and special reports and presentations for internal and customer audiences.
  • Read mechanical CAD drawings with a solid understanding of GD&T drafting principles.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering field.
  • Seven years of related manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience implementing and providing technical support for automated final assembly processes and equipment for Printed Circuit Board technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with the Injection Molding process, Injection Molding Tool Design for Manufacturing, SMED, and direct Mold Tooling Maintenance.
  • Proven experience in the development and execution of designed experiments (DOE).
  • Strong team leadership and project management skills, with the capability to communicate and influence others effectively.
  • Experience supporting PFMEA and control plans.
  • Training in Green Belt / Black Belt Six Sigma with practical application experience.
  • Experience with industrial controls such as PLC’s and Robotics.
