General Motors LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support machine troubleshooting, continuous improvement projects, and problem solving on new and existing equipment for production components including heat exchangers and stators. This role is a key part of our manufacturing operations team.
What You'll Do
- Lead problem solving initiatives to determine root cause for equipment related issues.
- Create technical documentation such as job instructions and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Support the ongoing implementation of processes control plans, PFMEA's, spare part setups, and equipment drawings.
- Maintain communication with partners outside of the work group including safety, quality, production, and maintenance.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to provide technical solutions to technical problems.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and off-shifts as needed by the business.
- Travel and perform machine runoff as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor Degree in a technical or related field
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experienced in 3-D design
- Problem Solving
- Ability to multi-task, supporting several projects with various priority levels
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering or maintenance
- Ability to read equipment drawings
- Experience with SolidWorks
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
- Experience working in a union environment
