BrainRocket is looking for a Manual QA Engineer to join our team in Portugal, ensuring we deliver high-quality, reliable web applications. You will work closely with developers, team leads, and product stakeholders to maintain the highest standards for our platforms.
What You'll Do
- Perform manual testing of web applications to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
- Define test scope, create test plans, and write clear, detailed test cases.
- Log, track, and verify defects in bug tracking systems such as JIRA.
- Collaborate with developers and team leads to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality delivery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and standards within the team.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in QA testing web and/or mobile applications.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, testing processes, methodologies, and industry standards.
- Proven experience in testing web-based applications and delivering quality across projects.
- Strong ability to define test scope, create test strategies, and execute detailed test plans.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining test documentation — test cases, checklists, and bug reports.
- Confident with JIRA or similar bug tracking tools.
- Working knowledge of API testing, REST, JSON, and SQL for data validation.
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- Comfortable working in Agile and Scrum teams — communicative, team-oriented, and self-driven.
- English B2+ or Advanced level.
Nice to Have
- Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Familiarity with Git, CI and CD pipelines, and cloud-based environments.
- Exposure to mobile testing (iOS and Android), microservices, or performance testing.
- Passion for metrics-driven quality, continuous improvement, and raising the QA bar higher every sprint.
