BrainRocket is looking for a Manual QA Engineer to join our team in Portugal, ensuring we deliver high-quality, reliable web applications. You will work closely with developers, team leads, and product stakeholders to maintain the highest standards for our platforms.

What You'll Do

Perform manual testing of web applications to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
Define test scope, create test plans, and write clear, detailed test cases.
Log, track, and verify defects in bug tracking systems such as JIRA.
Collaborate with developers and team leads to clarify requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality delivery.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and standards within the team.

What We're Looking For

3+ years of hands-on experience in QA testing web and/or mobile applications.
Solid understanding of SDLC, testing processes, methodologies, and industry standards.
Proven experience in testing web-based applications and delivering quality across projects.
Strong ability to define test scope, create test strategies, and execute detailed test plans.
Skilled in creating and maintaining test documentation — test cases, checklists, and bug reports.
Confident with JIRA or similar bug tracking tools.
Working knowledge of API testing, REST, JSON, and SQL for data validation.
Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to solving problems.
Comfortable working in Agile and Scrum teams — communicative, team-oriented, and self-driven.
English B2+ or Advanced level.

Nice to Have

Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
Familiarity with Git, CI and CD pipelines, and cloud-based environments.
Exposure to mobile testing (iOS and Android), microservices, or performance testing.
Passion for metrics-driven quality, continuous improvement, and raising the QA bar higher every sprint.
