The Manager, Statistics plays a key role in shaping the scientific integrity of clinical and research studies. This position provides expert statistical input from study inception through final reporting, ensuring methodological soundness and alignment with regulatory standards. Working within a hybrid environment, the individual will support research and development initiatives across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design clinical trials and scientific investigations with robust statistical frameworks.
- Develop detailed statistical analysis plans, including specifications for programming and derived variables.
- Conduct independent statistical analyses and verify accuracy of outputs.
- Collaborate with data science and programming teams to prepare for database lock and ensure data integrity.
- Identify data anomalies, study limitations, or violations of assumptions and recommend corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of novel statistical methods when existing tools are insufficient.
- Support the creation of tables, listings, and figures for regulatory submissions and scientific publications.
- Translate complex statistical concepts for non-technical audiences across functions.
- Ensure consistency and scientific validity in all reported results and conclusions.
- Partner with product teams and functional leaders to guide data-driven decision-making.
Collaboration & Communication
This role requires strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across disciplines. The manager will work closely with clinical, regulatory, and data teams to align on study objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Clear communication of statistical reasoning and findings is essential to support cross-functional alignment and strategic planning.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position with preferred locations in San Francisco, CA, and North Chicago, IL. Candidates may also be considered for Florham Park, NJ, or Irvine, CA, provided they are local to those areas. The role demands in-person collaboration on scheduled days, balanced with remote work flexibility.
