The University of Toronto is hiring a Manager, HR Reporting & Insights. You will lead the People Analytics team within People Strategy, Equity & Culture (PSEC), providing the data-driven evidence required to support complex decision-making across the institution.

What You'll Do

  • Steer the People Analytics team in the development, delivery, and optimization of high-impact reporting and advanced workforce insights.
  • Provide data-driven evidence to support complex decision-making, including sensitive labour and faculty relations activities such as collective bargaining costing and grievance trend analytics.
  • Fulfill all mandatory provincial and federal legislated reporting requirements.
  • Manage institutional-scale data governance and the lifecycle of major survey operations.
  • Architect complex HRIS reports and interpret multi-layered datasets to identify emerging workforce trends.
  • Design interactive, actionable dashboards that translate raw data into clear narratives for internal stakeholders and divisional leaders.
  • Ensure the integrity, scalability, and accessibility of people data to foster a culture of evidence-based HR management.

What We're Looking For

  • A university degree in Business, Data Analytics, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR, data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence within a complex organizational environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience managing and motivating staff.
  • Working knowledge of University policies and procedures as they relate to human resources, finance, and payroll.
  • Experience with usability and web design principles, including user focus groups and needs assessments.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation, collective agreements, and employment policies to ensure HR system compliance.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture, BI tools, and predictive analytics methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, spreadsheet software, and databases.
  • Knowledge of SAP HCM (HRIS), SAP Employee Central, SuccessFactors, Spinifex, and other HR systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to conduct training sessions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to write clear, concise procedural and technical documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with multiple demands efficiently.

  • Hiring Zone Salary Range: $106,705 - $124,491
  • Broadband Salary Range: $106,705 - $177,843
