About the Role

BEUMER Group is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to play a critical role in the performance and reliability of our Individual Carrier System (ICS) at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). This position is central to ensuring seamless baggage flow and demands advanced expertise across electrical, mechanical, and control systems. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, system diagnostics, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components and interfacing third-party equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems using structured troubleshooting methods.
  • Respond swiftly to system interruptions, execute resets, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance aligned with BEUMER Group standards and OEM documentation.
  • Interface with BEUMER’s SAC and PLC systems to monitor performance and execute logic-based interventions.
  • Inspect system health using diagnostic tools and performance dashboards to recommend optimizations.
  • Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, fault trends, and spare part usage.
  • Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Quality Control standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Communicate clearly with Shift Supervisors and cross-functional teams regarding system status and escalations.
  • Support system upgrades, hardware retrofits, and updates in collaboration with engineering and OEM representatives.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including failure mode analysis and reliability-centered maintenance reviews.
  • Execute additional tasks or projects as assigned by management.

What We're Looking For

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in automated material handling systems, preferably within airport or logistics environments.
  • Eligibility for and ability to maintain airside security clearance.
  • Deep understanding of mechatronic systems, including sensors, actuators, motors, and controls.
  • Proficiency in BEUMER SAC systems, PLC programming (Siemens preferred), and advanced fault diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including Profinet, CANbus, and other Fieldbus systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and software documentation.
  • Skilled in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and software interfaces for system analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to reliability.
  • Clear and professional communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety, compliance, and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
