NextEra Energy, enabling American energy dominance, is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform critical mechanical maintenance on plant equipment for Florida Power & Light Company. This is a non-shift position based at the West County Plant in Loxahatchee, Florida, with travel required to support fleet outages across the state.
What You'll Do
- Perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment.
- Operate all types of power and machine tools, hand tools, and equipment to maintain a safe, clean, and productive workplace.
- Use precision tools when required.
- Perform preventive and minor maintenance on plant equipment.
- Perform major maintenance on plant equipment, including construction, demolition, removal, installation, repair, and replacement.
- May maintain stock and records of plant mechanical materials, supplies, tools, and spare parts.
- Perform associated responsibilities according to safe work practices and the Memorandum of Agreement.
What We're Looking For
- Has previously held the classification of mechanic, and/or successfully completed the joint apprentice program for mechanic or equivalent.
- Pwr Plt Mtce Pos Sel Sys Test passed.
- Valid Driver's License (NON CDL).
Nice to Have
- Welder Certified.
Team & Environment
Works under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman.
