Coherent Corp. is hiring a Maintenance Engineer responsible for equipment maintenance and improvements for manufacturing tools. In this role, you will lead a group of technicians and implement cost reduction and continual improvement activities, working closely with process engineers and production teams.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and improve equipment including die attach bonders, wire bonders, welders, ovens, and testers.
- Lead a team of technicians.
- Identify, lead, and implement cost reduction activities.
- Prepare and perform new equipment set-up and buy-off.
- Ensure proper facilities are available for new equipment installation.
- Liaise with equipment vendors to improve tool capability.
- Provide feedback on equipment and material issues, offering solutions to ensure new products meet requirements.
- Work with process engineers to prepare and update process documentation and work instructions.
- Work with the production team to improve yield, UPH, and reduce costs for assigned processes.
- Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, company rules, regulations, and applicable codes.
- Drive continual improvement initiatives.
- Practice risk-based thinking in task planning and execution.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree, or Master's Degree in Engineering (Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Computer/Telecommunication, or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in networking, test process, or product transfer.
- Familiarity with product development processes and a proven record of releasing products to production.
- Understanding of basic test methodologies and the ability to interpret electronic schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience working with fiber-optic or laser products.
