This entry-level seasonal position in Leadville, Colorado supports the Rocky Mountain Program by coordinating transportation, equipment, and supplies for wilderness courses. The coordinator works under the Warehouse Manager and Logistics Associate Program Director, assisting with course logistics, emergency response, and team communication to ensure a high-quality educational experience. Success requires collaboration, adaptability, problem-solving, and dedication to safety and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Supports the organization's mission and educational goals by enabling character growth, leadership, and service through logistical operations.
- Manages systems for food planning for groups up to 40, maintains gear inventory, performs repairs, and provides feedback to enhance course quality.
- Serves as a driver for course-related activities, frequently operating large vehicles on 4x4 terrain; may receive additional training for towing and long-distance travel.
- Clarifies logistics responsibilities and expectations with team members.
- Helps maintain the vehicle fleet through routine inspections and reporting needed maintenance.
- Follows established warehouse and basecamp protocols, including packing, cleaning, repairing, and tracking supplies.
- Participates in emergency response efforts, including on-call duties, field evacuations, and adherence to emergency procedures.
- Complies with all safety guidelines, operational policies, and emergency plans as outlined in official staff manuals.
- Maintains clear, timely, and effective communication with instructors, course leaders, and logistics teams.
- Engages in ongoing feedback exchange with colleagues to support personal and team development.
- Promotes a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive workplace that values diversity and fosters belonging for all staff and students.
