Welocalize is seeking a Linguistic QA Tester to ensure the quality of localized content. In this remote role based in Greece (el-GR), you will be the linguistic expert for your native language, reviewing and refining content across various digital products.
What You'll Do
- Proofread and edit content localized to your native language, catching errors in grammar, syntax, punctuation, typos, and inconsistencies.
- Translate content from English to your native language.
- Check user interfaces (UIs) for functional issues.
- Write and report bugs using best practices through an internal database system.
- QA various products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
- Discover and report defects using client-specific bug tracking tools.
- Evaluate translations in the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
- Act as a subject matter expert for linguistic issues; research and resolve linguistic questions.
- Adhere to project-specific quality standards, style guides, and client-preferred checklists.
- Troubleshoot basic problems and communicate effectively, escalating issues when necessary.
- Complete assigned tasks in a quality and timely manner.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Native-level or fully bilingual fluency in the required language(s).
- Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in the target language.
- Strong English skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to navigate networks and websites using different browsers.
- Basic knowledge of PC hardware (desktop and laptop).
- Basic knowledge of smartphones (iPhone or Android).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Localization, QA, or translation experience.
- Advanced computer skills.
