ScionHealth is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our medical/surgical team. In this role, you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with activities of daily living
- Administer medications as prescribed within your scope of practice
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner
- Assist with specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical procedures as directed
- Collaborate with the RN in developing, updating, and implementing patient care plans
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the RN or physician
- Provide patient and family education regarding care plans and discharge instructions
- Maintain a safe and clean patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols
- Participate in staff training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives
- Respond to emergencies and assist in patient stabilization as directed
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing Program
- Current state LPN/LVN licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification as required per facility policy
- De-escalation Training as required per facility policy
- Knowledge of basic nursing principles, medication administration, and patient care procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience in a medical/surgical setting
Team & Environment
You will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in a collaborative team environment.
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located in Selma, AL.
