MinterEllison is hiring a Legal Secretary to join the WorkCover team within our Statutory Compensation Management group. This is a 14-month fixed-term contract providing high-level support in a busy litigation practice from our Melbourne office. You will work in a collaborative environment that values excellence and empowers people with support and trust.
What You'll Do
- Manage email, phone, and diary, including organizing meetings
- Liaise with medico-legal doctors, barrister clerks, investigators, and insurers
- Draft correspondence and produce and amend documents using precedents
- Prepare responses, court books, and briefs
- Manage a high volume of files
- Reconcile corporate AMEX expenses
- Monitor key dates for advices, responses, and statutory offers
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 2 years' legal secretarial experience in a defendant or plaintiff litigation practice within a fast-paced professional services environment
- Adaptability, flexibility, and a high level of initiative
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills with a proven ability to be proactive and multitask
- A team-oriented approach, committed to building rapport with your job share partner and other team members
- The ability to clearly and confidently communicate with a range of stakeholders and clients
- Discretion in handling confidential information
- Ability to build strong client relationships
- A strong understanding of MS Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A demonstrated commitment to high internal and external service standards
- Can demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for the role
