Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is seeking a Lead UX/UI Designer to shape the user experience for our sophisticated B2B platform. In this role, you will craft intuitive and visually compelling experiences for a complex, data-driven product used in engineering and geospatial fields.
What You'll Do
- Lead the end-to-end UX/UI design process for a web-based 3D data platform, translating complex data flows into immersive, intuitive interfaces.
- Design workflows and interfaces that facilitate efficient interaction with large, complex datasets.
- Conduct user research with B2B clients to inform design decisions and align with business objectives.
- Develop a visual-first design system emphasizing interactive maps, dashboards, and modular UI components.
- Apply gaming-inspired UX principles such as feedback loops, progressive disclosure, and visual cues to guide user interactions.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to integrate design with platform functionality.
- Advocate for design excellence and present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience with data-heavy, web-based platforms, emphasizing visual interaction and user engagement in B2B contexts.
- Expertise in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and a solid understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Strong skills in designing interactive data visualizations using libraries such as D3.js, Mapbox, or CesiumJS.
- Exceptional client-facing communication skills, capable of presenting design concepts to technical stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex requirements into elegant, user-centered designs.
- Strong user empathy, with a passion for crafting functional and delightful experiences.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with game design principles, interactive systems, or gamified UX is highly desirable.
- Experience with mapping APIs, GIS platforms, HCI, game design, or large-scale data visualization projects.
