Eaton Corporation's Electrical Services and Systems division is hiring a Lead Software Test Engineer to define and coordinate verification and validation for its microgrid and Distributed Energy Resource (DER) control platforms. You will provide technical leadership and develop test strategies across control logic, SCADA, embedded systems, and UI/EMS clients.

What You'll Do

Lead and coordinate functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for microgrid and DER control platforms.
Work with the chief architect and product manager to develop comprehensive software test strategies.
Guide a team of test engineers through daily standups, retrospectives, and task prioritization.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of automated test frameworks and HIL model integration for control validation.
Support and optimize quality assurance automation within GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
Contribute to project meetings by providing quality feedback and assessing delivery readiness.
Maintain quality documentation, follow quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
Mentor team members, promote best practices, and foster innovation in QA processes.

What We're Looking For

Post-secondary education in software engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in software testing, preferably in industrial control or embedded systems.
Leadership experience within an engineering team.
Strong understanding of PLC/IPC architectures and protocol stacks.
Hands-on experience with Jira, GitHub, and automated test frameworks.
Familiarity with Agile Kanban methodologies and DevOps practices.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB, and test management tools.
Proficiency in French and English.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
No relocation offered; candidates must reside within 80 km of the Brossard facility.

Nice to Have

Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments.
Experience with microgrid controllers, DERMS, SCADA, and CODESYS systems.
Knowledge of regulatory standards like IEC, IEEE, and UL for power systems.
Knowledge of cloud-based EMS integration and distributed control systems.
Formal education in Software Quality Assurance or relevant software testing certifications.
Knowledge of cybersecurity testing for control systems.
Experience with performance testing and tools like JMeter.
Knowledge of electrical systems engineering.
Relevant certifications in software and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
