Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of benefit discovery and redemption systems across web, mobile, and partner-facing integrations.
- Own the technical roadmap for scalable benefit catalogs, eligibility determination, redemption workflows, and fulfillment infrastructure.
- Ensure all platforms meet rigorous standards for performance, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Make architectural decisions that support rapid development while enabling sustainable platform growth.
- Serve as a hands-on technical leader across key platform initiatives, contributing directly to code and system design.
- Mentor and guide engineers across teams in a matrixed environment, establishing best practices in design, code quality, and delivery.
- Break down complex projects into actionable tasks and ensure coordination and alignment across multiple engineering teams.
- Champion best practices in system design, testing, observability, and technical documentation.
- Lead integration efforts with benefit providers, merchants, and external technology partners.
- Solve cross-system challenges involving identity, eligibility logic, redemption processes, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for high-impact integrations with partners and customers.
- Translate business, product, and regulatory requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions.
- Define and refine engineering and integration standards in line with enterprise and fintech industry best practices.
- Develop and enhance simulation, sandbox, and integration testing tools to speed up development and partner onboarding.
- Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and operational standards across all systems.
- Deliver against key platform metrics for reliability, performance, and user experience.
- Advocate for customer needs within engineering, emphasizing clarity, simplicity, and intuitive design.
- Incorporate feedback from customers, partners, and internal teams to drive continuous product improvements.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and support teams to align technical execution with user experience goals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Alternatively, at least 7 years of experience with an Advanced degree such as a Master’s, MBA, JD, or MD.
- Alternatively, 4 years of experience with a PhD.
- Alternatively, 13 or more years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and confident communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with external partners and influencing teams without direct authority.

- Proficiency in modern programming languages and paradigms, with strong object-oriented design fundamentals.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release management, and development tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Maven.
- Domain expertise in payments, loyalty programs, benefits platforms, eCommerce, or fintech is highly valued.
