About the Role

Equitable is hiring a Lead SAP Data Engineer to join our technology group, which partners closely with our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing data integration activities across our general ledger, financial products subledger, and peripheral systems. Your work will automate business processes to unlock capacity for enhanced analytics and new ideas.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of new applications and system enhancements in partnership with finance teams.
  • Analyze existing financial processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend effective solutions.
  • Facilitate system testing, including creating test plans and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting for data-related issues across financial systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and data flows.

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced development experience with SAP Native HANA.
  • Proficiency in Native HANA SQL.
  • Expertise in Smart Data Integration (SDI) – Flowgraphs & Procedures.
  • Experience with Smart Data Access (SDA).
  • Knowledge of Calculation Views and Analytic Views.
  • Deep understanding of Financial Accounting for Life & Annuity Insurances.
  • Experience in Ledger and Sub-Ledger Data Analysis.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SAP Analysis for Office, SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ), and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
  • Familiarity with Financial Product Subledger (FPSL).
  • Exposure to SAP BW for HANA.
  • Working knowledge of ABAP and Core Data Services (CDS) Views.
