Griffith University is looking for a Lead Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, maintenance, and improvement of our PeopleSoft ERP platform. You will ensure this critical system remains stable, secure, and fit for purpose by focusing on application performance, patching integrity, and service continuity. This role provides technical guidance and coordination support to our Database Administration Team.
What You'll Do
- Drive resiliency and availability by collaborating with Platform Engineering, Product teams, and the PeopleSoft application support team.
- Champion automation by designing and building robust automation solutions for deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
- Manage deployments of PeopleSoft updates and patches while maintaining high system reliability and security standards.
- Drive innovation and adoption of cloud-native infrastructure, modern DevOps practices, and observability tools.
- Lead technical growth by mentoring colleagues and promoting automation, reliability, and DevOps best practices.
- Develop and maintain an enterprise patching strategy and calendar for ERP systems.
- Oversee service level management and operations, including service catalog, monitoring, incident management, and reporting.
- Engage stakeholders and plan business readiness for patch deployments, including communication, training, and support.
- Monitor emerging technologies and vendor roadmaps to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage supplier and vendor relationships, negotiating services and support terms.
- Lead, mentor, and manage staff or virtual teams to deliver patching and reliability outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, standards, and security controls for ERP and database operations.

Nice to Have
- Experience in the Higher Education sector and understanding of its operational systems and data requirements.
- Background in system administration, application support, or infrastructure management in enterprise environments, preferably with exposure to ERP systems such as PeopleSoft.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent knowledge of IT service and change management principles.

- Base salary range: $132,655.36 - $137,398.61 + 17% super. Full package range: $155,206.78 - $160,756.38.

This is a hybrid role based primarily at the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) campus. As a multi-site University, there may be requirements to work across other locations.
