The Lead Product Designer will be a primary architect of the user experience for DailyPay's flagship consumer mobile product, driving design excellence and strategic influence across a mobile-first ecosystem. This hybrid role in New York City involves leading a product squad, mentoring designers, and collaborating closely with UX, Research, and Product teams to shape the future of earned wage access.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end design lifecycle for consumer mobile features—from foundational discovery and wire-framing to pixel-perfect, developer-ready delivery across iOS and Android.
- Act as the design authority within your product squad and serve as a strategic partner to Product and Engineering, aligning design initiatives with the 12-to-24-month vision and business goals.
- Translate broad, conceptual ideas into valuable, elegant experiences using design as a tool for collaboration and creating alignment artifacts for stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of rigorous inquiry and craft excellence through active mentorship, thoughtful design critiques, and leading by example.
- Partner closely with the Research team to validate complex interactions and UI patterns, ensuring the experience is intuitive for users and high-performing for the business.
- Collaborate with engineers to implement and maintain a cohesive product, helping evolve the design system for consistency and scalability across mobile and web platforms.
- Stay at the forefront of the consumer finance and payments industries, ensuring design patterns reflect the nuances of financial wellness.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years experience in product design, with a portfolio showcasing high-impact, consumer-facing mobile products that have shipped at scale.
- Deep expertise in managing the design process from start to finish—bringing multidisciplinary squads along and knowing when to be 'scrappy' vs. 'deep-dive'.
- Mastery of iOS and Android design patterns, with the ability to create high-fidelity prototypes that communicate complex motion and interaction.
- A 'player-coach' mentality—comfortable diving into Figma and leading high-level stakeholder alignment meetings.
- Proven ability to move from 'insight' to 'recommendation,' with a track record of influencing product roadmaps.
- Exceptional communication skills to distill complex human behaviors and financial flows into clear, compelling narratives that move people to action.
