Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and scalable cloud systems on Google Cloud Platform within a high-security government setting. Focus on automation, adherence to federal compliance requirements, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or equivalent tools.
- Support automation, integration, and management of CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with software developers, security teams, and government stakeholders to enable efficient development and deployment workflows.
- Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure cloud services meet service level agreements.
- Enforce cloud best practices and ensure alignment with federal security standards such as FedRAMP and NIST.
- Produce technical documentation and share knowledge across the engineering team.
Requirements
- Willingness to obtain a security clearance.
- Minimum of four years of cloud engineering experience, including at least two years focused on GCP.
- Hands-on experience with GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms including GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
Nice to Have
- Hold a GCP Professional Cloud Architect or GCP DevOps Engineer certification.
- Prior experience supporting federal government contracts and familiarity with ATO processes.
- Exposure to other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is beneficial.
- Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or Go.
