LIGHTFEATHER IO LLC is hiring a Lead GCP Cloud Engineer

Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and scalable cloud systems on Google Cloud Platform within a high-security government setting. Focus on automation, adherence to federal compliance requirements, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or equivalent tools.
  • Support automation, integration, and management of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with software developers, security teams, and government stakeholders to enable efficient development and deployment workflows.
  • Monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and ensure cloud services meet service level agreements.
  • Enforce cloud best practices and ensure alignment with federal security standards such as FedRAMP and NIST.
  • Produce technical documentation and share knowledge across the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Willingness to obtain a security clearance.
  • Minimum of four years of cloud engineering experience, including at least two years focused on GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms including GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.

Nice to Have

  • Hold a GCP Professional Cloud Architect or GCP DevOps Engineer certification.
  • Prior experience supporting federal government contracts and familiarity with ATO processes.
  • Exposure to other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is beneficial.
  • Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or Go.
