About the Role

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to be responsible for providing technical system recommendations and requirements to our customers, deploying servers and software, and supporting system implementations. You will play a key technical role in enabling healthcare solutions while collaborating with R&D and cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical system recommendations and requirements to BD's customers and work with them to deploy servers and software.
  • Perform technical sales support, server deployment, software deployment, system design, and initial configuration tasks.
  • Work with the project implementation team for on-time, successful system implementation.
  • Handle backend business functions including equipment and software ordering, product development input/R&D collaboration, and quality system requirements.
  • Work closely with R&D for IDN level build and architectural design, and product XDE/Limited Release participation.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for Alpha/Beta/Charlie progression and cross-functional team participation.
  • Follow technical documentation, new product validation/requirements, test plans, and deployment guides.
  • Participate in conference calls with internal customers to facilitate project team collaboration.
  • Establish rapport with customers conducive to long-term business relationships.
  • Provide team support and product information on BD products as assigned.
  • Lead customer teams, share expertise, secure agreement, and provide clear communication.
  • Provide product feedback, technical insight, and customer requirements to Senior Systems Engineers.
  • Communicate the vision and business need for change to others.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers.
  • Communicate technical requirements and recommendations to project leadership.
  • Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams on small to medium projects focusing on legacy and ancillary systems.
  • Demonstrate problem solving, troubleshooting, and system consultation related to BD products.
  • Install and support the deployment of BD servers and software in customer environments.
  • Act as a customer support resource when necessary.
  • Collaborate with customers and Lead Systems Engineers on confirming specifications/requirements.
  • Follow and provide recommendations to product documentation.
  • Participate in specialized projects and teams.
  • Work independently.
  • Follow all Central Server & Software Deployment Policies and Procedures.
  • Complete project documentation in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and supply updates on escalated critical issues.
  • Recognize unnecessary workflow steps and identify processes that can be improved.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve process, workflow, and service.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, stoop, bend, and lift.
  • Must provide proof of, and maintain current immunizations required by customer facilities.
  • Must maintain a current driver’s license and meet BD’s auto safety requirements.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in healthcare information systems.
  • Two or more years in a healthcare environment with technical (systems) involvement and computerized system applications.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of Operating Systems, software applications, including BD products.
  • Experience with small to medium projects.
  • Certifications and/or experience in VMware, SQL/DB Admin, MCSE/MCSA, Networking, HIPAA, Active Directory, IT Security, Azure, AWS.

Team & Environment

This role is part of the BD Central Server & Software Deployment team. Systems Engineers are assigned to customer projects and accounts based on regional/national organizational structures.

  • Salary range: $102,000.00 - $168,200.00 USD Annual
