Mahindra & Mahindra is hiring a Lead Engineer to be responsible for designing and implementing HMI applications for automotive Infotainment systems on Android Automotive OS (AAOS) platforms. You will collaborate with UX/UI designers, integrate with middleware, optimize performance, and work within cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality automotive software.

What You'll Do

Design and implement HMI applications for Infotainment systems on Android (AAOS) platforms.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to bring wireframes and visual concepts to life using tools like Android Studio, Kanzi, and Unreal Engine.
Integrate HMI layers with middleware and the Android Automotive framework.
Optimize 3D graphics, animations, and overall HMI performance for smooth rendering on embedded systems with real-time constraints.
Conduct debugging, unit testing, and validation of HMI features across various hardware platforms.
Create clear and concise documentation for design, architecture, and workflows.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including system architects, platform developers, and QA engineers.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field.
Proficiency in Android Studio, Java, and Kotlin.
Strong experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS).
Strong knowledge of Jetpack Compose.
Experience with UI/UX tools such as Qt, Kanzi, and Unreal Engine.
Understanding of embedded systems, real-time OS, and performance optimization.
Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD, and Agile development.

Nice to Have

Experience with AOSP customization and Android HAL development.
Exposure to graphics rendering techniques, animations, 3D graphics principles, and GPU optimization.
Familiarity with SoCs from Qualcomm, Renesas, or NXP.
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434).
