Lead Designer - Digital UI/UX (Subscription) Remote (Domestic USA) Department: Digital Location: Remote (United States only) As the Lead Designer, Digital UI/UX, you will guide the user-focused design strategy for our subscription-driven digital SaaS solutions. In this critical position, you'll architect and refine the entire customer interaction pathway, from initial engagement to sustained retention—by crafting intuitive interfaces, streamlining onboarding processes, and enhancing the quality of our content-driven experiences. You will be actively involved in designing, evaluating, and iterating on workflows where minute design adjustments can significantly impact activation, engagement, and subscription performance metrics. You will collaborate intimately with product, engineering, analytics, and content teams to deliver sophisticated, high-performance UX that increases user value and ensures our SaaS products feel seamless, compelling, and trustworthy. Responsibilities: - Establish and advocate for a user-centric design philosophy across the organization, emphasizing SaaS and subscription product experiences - Design onboarding funnels, activation flows, dashboards, and in-app interactions that drive subscription initiations, trial conversions, retention, and recurring engagement - Develop wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and interaction models that communicate complex concepts clearly and simply - Rapidly iterate using qualitative insights, quantitative data, A/B testing, and user research—treating design as an optimization mechanism directly influencing KPIs - Collaborate closely with product management to define user challenges and translate them into clear, testable, user-centered solutions - Partner with engineering to ensure design feasibility, accessibility, and high-quality implementation - Work directly with analytics and growth teams to measure funnel performance, activation rates, cohort behavior, and friction points throughout the onboarding journey Qualifications: - Proven capability to design clean, contemporary, intuitive interfaces for subscription-based SaaS products and content-centric applications - Extensive experience designing and optimizing onboarding funnels, trial experiences, subscription checkout flows, and retention-enhancing UX - Profound understanding of growth loops, activation metrics, user engagement signals, and UX design's direct impact on performance KPIs - Demonstrated proficiency with analytics platforms and A/B testing tools, with a track record of driving measurable improvements - Excellent visual design fundamentals and Figma mastery - Ability to articulate design decisions persuasively to cross-functional partners - Experience in service design, customer journey mapping, or lifecycle-focused UX - Basic fluency in front-end technologies to effectively collaborate with engineering - Strong understanding of content-driven product design - Familiarity with UA's business and customer base is a plus but not required Education/Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field; equivalent work experience considered - 5-7+ years of overall experience, with 5+ years in product/UI/UX design, specifically within SaaS or subscription-based products UA Salary Range/Hourly Rate of Pay: California Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 Base salary/hourly rate will be based on the cost of labor for the city/state in which the new hire resides, at the time of hire.
