Vail Health is hiring a Lead Customer Service Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager/Supervisor and team while maintaining productivity of assigned tasks.
  • Operate independently and make strategic decisions.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction by addressing complaints, responding to correspondence, and processing payments and refunds.
  • Manage daily call traffic, handle incoming calls, resolve escalated calls, and assist team members with client inquiries.
  • Address patient and insurance issues through phone calls, voicemails, correspondence, and walk-in patients.
  • Manage call traffic flow and adjust phone coverage to ensure high call handling rates.
  • Handle escalated client concerns and questions.
  • Delegate escalated calls to higher management as needed.
  • Provide training and support to Customer Service Representatives under the oversight of management.
  • Verify patient account balances, process payments, and apply adjustments to patient accounts in various computer systems.
  • Reconcile daily cash collections made through Customer Service.
  • Triage and collaborate with team members for account resolution.
  • Process mail, patient refunds, cash posting, billing, and patient follow-up as needed.
  • Monitor and report on the quality and productivity of Customer Service calls for training and improvement purposes.
  • Monitor and report on the quality and quantity of Customer Service contacts for process improvement and projects.
  • Enter confidential personal health information and financial information into computerized systems accurately.

Requirements

  • Three years of customer service experience
  • Patient Financial Specialist by Healthcare Business Insights (HBI) preferred
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist by American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM) preferred
