BJAK is hiring a Lead AI Engineer to build and scale intelligent systems that serve millions across Southeast Asia. In this role, you will design, train, and deploy production-grade ML models, lead technical decision-making, and help grow a lean, high-performance AI team through mentorship and hiring.

What You'll Do

Design, train, and deploy production-grade ML models for business-critical use cases.
Collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering teams to define and execute AI solutions.
Lead technical decision-making on model design, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure.
Own the full model lifecycle—from data prep and training to evaluation, monitoring, and retraining.
Guide junior AI engineers through code reviews, project planning, and mentorship.
Drive the hiring process: screen candidates, evaluate technical fit, and onboard top talent.
Champion best practices in experimentation, model development, and production of AI.
Stay ahead of the curve by evaluating new tools, frameworks, and advancements in AI.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
4–6 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with models deployed in production.
Strong Python skills are a must.
Deep experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
Solid understanding of ML lifecycles—from data pipelines and feature engineering to tuning, deployment, and monitoring.
Real-world experience building AI systems in domains like recommendation, NLP, or risk modeling.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating cross-functionally.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Based in Vietnam with a work remote setup.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with MLOps tooling such as MLflow, Airflow, Docker, or GCP/AWS.
Experience in responsible AI practices around fairness, explainability, and transparency.
Startup background or experience in fast-moving product teams.
Experience building internal AI tools, reusable components, or ML platforms.
