Equinix is hiring a Landing Engineer to play a critical role in our global network infrastructure. You will manage and maintain our international cable landing station in Qua Iboe, ensuring the high reliability, availability, and performance of our subsea cable systems with a focus on outside plant and power infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain outside plant infrastructure, including cable landing facilities, beach manholes, and terrestrial cable routes.
- Manage power infrastructure, including power systems, backup generators, and energy storage systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on project planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures, emergency response plans, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and technical assessments for new cable landing projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Provide technical expertise and support for fault management, performance optimization, and capacity upgrades.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree or Equivalent in Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in subsea cable systems, outside plants, and power infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of cable landing station design, power systems, and network architecture.
- Experience with industry-standard equipment (e.g., DWDM, OADM, power conditioners).
- Proficiency in technical design and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice to Have
- Relevant certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CTP) is an advantage.
