Responsibilities
- Carry out topographic, control, and setting-out surveys for stormwater systems and microtunneling, covering pipelines, shafts, manholes, and related civil works.
- Set up, confirm, and manage survey control points, benchmarks, and reference grids in coordination with contractor survey teams.
- Interpret and implement approved IFC drawings, alignment details, and coordinate systems according to project and RTA standards.
- Validate horizontal and vertical alignments, pipe invert levels, tunnel drives, and shaft positions before and during construction.
- Ensure all setting-out tasks follow approved methods and instrument calibration protocols.
- Perform as-built surveys and assess the correctness of contractor-submitted as-built drawings prior to formal submission.
- Track microtunneling alignment and breakthrough coordinates, confirming adherence to permitted tolerances.
- Keep current and organized survey records, field notes, and digital data to ensure full traceability of field operations.
- Collaborate with contractors and supervision personnel to resolve on-site survey discrepancies or variances.
- Review and approve survey data for inclusion in measurement documentation, interim payments, and progress assessments.
- Attend pre-construction and ongoing progress meetings to report survey status, site limitations, and necessary actions.
- Uphold HSE standards during fieldwork, especially in confined spaces and shaft environments.
- Calibrate and service survey equipment such as total stations, GPS units, and digital levels per project QA/QC guidelines.
- Assist during testing, commissioning, and handover by confirming final elevations and positional coordinates.
