Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is looking for a Lab Test Simulation Engineer intern to join our Lab Test organization. You will support engineers by developing models and tools for our 15 state‑of‑the‑art Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HWIL) simulation labs, focusing on the integration between simulation platforms, models, and aircraft controllers.
What You'll Do
- Develop models using Simulink and MATLAB.
- Deploy models on real‑time simulation platforms (ADI, Speedgoat, NI) that interface directly with aircraft system controllers.
- Use Python scripting to facilitate testing of aircraft interfaces, create utilities for lab operations, and build tools for the group.
- Work on integration tasks between the simulation platform, models, and aircraft controllers.
What We're Looking For
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (unrounded); must be listed on resume.
- Minimum duration: 12–14 weeks (summer); 14–16 weeks (spring and fall).
- Must work onsite; this is not a remote position.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice to Have
- Modeling & Simulation experience with Simulink.
- Coding skills in Matlab and Python.
- Lab work focusing on integrating hardware and software together.
- Classes taken or planned in Aerodynamics, Aircraft Flight Dynamics, or Flight Controls.
- Hobbies or interests in pilot license, drones, robotics, microprocessors, or Arduinos.
