Kal Tire is seeking a Site Supervisor to manage the daily operational delivery of the tire service contract at the Kearl Oil Sands site. You will ensure alignment with both Kal Tire and client goals, uphold the highest safety standards, and provide direct supervision to all Kal Tire employees on site.
What You'll Do
- Set clear objectives and service standards to ensure team performance and development.
- Supervise the recruitment of site personnel in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Team.
- Communicate and implement all aspects of Kal Tire’s Health & Safety Program.
- Hold and document regular safety and toolbox talks with team members.
- Lead all safety and CSR activities to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Document, organize, and maintain Career Track Training for all team members.
- Ensure all site-specific and specialized training (e.g., Forklift, Manipulator) is documented and current.
- Interact regularly on the shop floor to provide coaching and mentoring.
- Prepare monthly reports on area activities using defined KPIs to benchmark performance.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to the client as required.
- Attend and participate in regularly scheduled client meetings.
- Provide continuous feedback to team members regarding client activities, policy changes, and performance.
- Improve team member relations through proper application of the Collective Agreement where applicable.
- Ensure site inspections, tire and wheel inspections, air pressure monitoring, rotations, change outs, and related documentation are carried out.
- Ensure appropriate equipment and tooling is provided, cared for, maintained, and in good working order.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Company, Client, or Governmental policies and procedures.
- Proactively understand new tire maintenance technology to provide added value to the client.
- Ensure adequate inventory is on hand or readily available to meet client needs.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in tire sales, operations, or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience within industrial or mining environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective team and client interaction.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve problems under pressure.
- Skill in administrative tasks including reporting, invoicing, and data analysis.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of safe work procedures, tire failure analysis, and maintenance plans.
- Familiarity with supervisory evaluations and performance management.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in remote, fly-in/fly-out camp settings.
Nice to Have
- Diploma or post-secondary education in administration, operations, or a related field.
