Responsibilities
- Owning compliance with worldwide laws applicable to AI, e-commerce platforms
- Contracts and assessments required under data protection law, including the GDPR (DPAs, TIAs, etc.)
- Preparing, maintaining required compliance documentation, e.g.: Internal documentation under data protection, AI Governance, consumer rights, and similar laws
- EverAI’s AI systems inventory (in line with EU guidance)
- Risk assessments under applicable safety laws
- Product & feature reviews (e.g., for consumer rights, data protection compliance)
- Owning day-to-day compliance tasks: Standard IP issues (e.g., DMCA notices, copycats)
- Contract reviews (NDAs, licenses)
- Legal terms updates (including TOS, Privacy Notices, and content policies)
- Tracking, researching and analyzing relevant legal developments (e.g., the application of new laws or regulatory guidance to EverAI)
Requirements
- Legal education (e.g., Masters of Law, Juris Doctor, recognized legal certification)
- 2-6 years of experience as legal counsel or similar positions: At least 2 years of your experience must be working with contracts, generally, and data protection law, specifically.
- Ability to distill complex legal concepts into plain English
- Interest in AI
- Strong communication & collaborative skills (perfectly fluent in English)
- Goal-oriented, ownership and commitment
- Doer mindset - we are moving fast and need people who can balance execution, planning, and strategy
- Humble - willing to learn, open to feedback
- Comfortable reviewing and discussing uncensored AI-generated content and NSFW material
Nice to Have
- Full certification as an attorney / legal counsel
