As a Junior User Researcher at Capgemini Invent, you’ll join the Digital Excellence community, applying user-centred design, critical thinking, and problem solving to your work. You will be responsible for planning and conducting high-impact research to understand users, managing research activities, and communicating findings effectively to teams and stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, developers, and other User Researchers to plan and conduct high-impact research.
- Manage and support research activities, suggesting appropriate methodologies based on project environment and team priorities.
- Research inclusively with a wide range of users, including those with additional needs and hard-to-reach groups.
- Consider the end-to-end user journey and external factors impacting the user experience.
- Communicate research findings to different audiences in an actionable and effective manner.
- Develop user research skills with regular guidance and training.
- Contribute to business development through proposals, RFPs, bids, and client pitches.
- Contribute internally through campaign development, think-tanks, whitepapers, and practice development.
- Engage in learning and development activities, including training and certifications.
What We're Looking For
- A keen interest in user research and user-centred design, keeping up to date with industry developments.
- Some hands-on experience of user research with an understanding of a range of methods.
- Some experience in planning and conducting qualitative studies such as interviews, observations, diary studies, concept testing, and usability studies.
- Familiar with quantitative methods such as surveys to identify actionable insights.
- Some experience utilising both quantitative and qualitative methods to identify actionable insights.
- Familiarity with analysing and synthesising both qualitative and quantitative data.
- Strong storytelling, communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
- Awareness of agile delivery methods.
- Experience or understanding of working with Government Digital Service (GDS) service standards and design principles.
- Hold an active SC (Security Check) Clearance or be eligible to receive SC clearance.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience conducting research or working in a research-focused role in a professional setting.
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, Human Computer Interaction or a related user experience field.
- A love of learning and eagerness to develop skills in parallel with client needs.
- Experience, understanding or interest in accessibility testing or inclusive design principles.
