About the Role
This role involves maintaining, enhancing, and supporting the Jira platform used across multiple teams. The administrator will handle system configurations, user access, workflow design, and integration with other tools to streamline development and operational processes.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the Jira instance to ensure high availability and performance
- Configure projects, workflows, screens, and custom fields based on team needs
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group roles within Jira
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues reported by users
- Collaborate with development and IT teams to implement new features
- Monitor system health and apply updates or patches as needed
- Document configurations, processes, and system changes
- Support agile practices by optimizing Jira for sprint planning and reporting
- Integrate Jira with other tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, or CI/CD systems
- Provide training and guidance to new and existing users
- Gather feedback to improve platform usability
- Maintain compliance with internal security and data policies
- Create and manage automation rules to reduce manual tasks
- Develop dashboards and reports for project tracking
- Assist in migrating legacy data into Jira when required
- Evaluate and recommend new apps or plugins from the Atlassian Marketplace
- Ensure backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place
- Handle version upgrades and coordinate maintenance windows
- Work with external support when advanced troubleshooting is needed
- Standardize processes across departments using best practices
Nice to Have
- Atlassian Certified Professional certification
- Experience with Jira automation and scripting
- Knowledge of SQL or similar query languages
- Familiarity with cloud-based Jira deployments
- Experience supporting large-scale user bases
