SS&C Eze is looking for a Java API Developer to join our growing development team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust, scalable APIs delivered via modern CI/CD pipelines.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, DevOps, and QA engineers.
- Take full ownership of problems, seeing challenges as opportunities for creative solutions.
- Implement secure, high-performance, and reusable code components.
- Integrate APIs with data stores such as SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Write unit, integration, and contract tests as part of a test-first development approach.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding best practices.
- Package and deploy code using modern CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Work closely with DevOps to manage deployments and environment configurations.
- Monitor APIs in production using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
What We're Looking For
- Strong Java development skills (Java 11+ preferred).
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, Quarkus, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of API security best practices including OAuth2, JWT, and HTTPS.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, etc.).
- Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Good English written and spoken communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Exposure to observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.).
