Role Overview

We’re seeking a proactive IT Support Field Engineer to provide reliable technical assistance across our nationwide retail locations. Based in Birmingham, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for on-site IT needs, ensuring systems remain operational and secure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver hands-on technical support at retail sites, covering setup, diagnostics, and repair of IT equipment
  • Travel frequently across the UK, planning visits efficiently to meet service demands
  • Attend headquarters in Birmingham at least three days each week for coordination, planning, and escalated issue resolution
  • Set up and maintain end-user devices such as computers, printers, point-of-sale systems, and networking hardware
  • Diagnose and fix hardware, software, and network connectivity problems promptly to reduce downtime
  • Conduct site assessments including cabling reviews and network infrastructure evaluations
  • Maintain accurate records of all IT assets and updates across locations
  • Coordinate with external suppliers for equipment repairs and replacements
  • Log all service activities, incidents, and solutions in the IT service management system
  • Support new store launches, office moves, and renovations with IT planning and execution
  • Escalate advanced technical issues to specialist teams when necessary
  • Follow security protocols and comply with UK data protection laws in all tasks
