About the Role
The IT Helpdesk Specialist will handle technical support requests, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure system uptime during overnight hours. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic setting.
Responsibilities
- Respond to technical support tickets from internal staff during overnight hours
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity problems
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT personnel as needed
- Maintain accurate records of support cases and resolutions
- Assist with user account management and access permissions
- Support deployment and configuration of desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Perform routine system checks and maintenance tasks
- Monitor IT infrastructure for performance and security issues
- Assist with after-hours system updates and patches
- Provide clear and timely communication during technical outages
- Follow established IT service protocols and escalation procedures
- Document technical processes and troubleshooting steps
- Support onboarding of new employees with IT setup
- Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and security standards
- Assist with backup verification and recovery procedures
- Troubleshoot printing and peripheral device issues
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies
- Support remote access setup and troubleshooting
- Assist with basic cybersecurity monitoring tasks
- Participate in IT incident response activities
- Follow change management procedures for system modifications
