CLAAS is seeking a student for an Internship or Thesis position to apply Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technologies in support of agricultural processes. You will join an international family company with an innovative work environment and more than 2,000 colleagues at the Harsewinkel site to develop prototype applications and validate models within agricultural technology.
What You'll Do
- Onboard into the use of Large Language Models, especially Retrieval-Augmented Generation and related technologies.
- Develop and implement prototype applications to support agricultural processes using LLMs.
- Analyze and process large volumes of unstructured data and integrate it into knowledge databases.
- Validate and optimize models in the context of agricultural technology and harvesting machinery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary research and development teams.
- Document results and present work outcomes to the team.
What We're Looking For
- Current studies in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a comparable degree program.
- Solid knowledge of Python.
- Interest and initial experience with Large Language Models and modern NLP technologies.
- Analytical thinking, creativity, teamwork, commitment, and strong communication skills.
- Interest in applications in the field of agriculture and technical innovations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Ollama, or Transformers.
- Experience or interest in retrieval techniques and knowledge management.
