Colas Rail UK is hiring an Interface Design Manager to act as the central point of contact for all design-related interfaces on our rail projects. You will ensure that various design packages are compatible, buildable, and delivered on schedule by proactively identifying and resolving potential conflicts.
What You'll Do
- Identify, document, and manage all internal and external interface points via a comprehensive Interface Register and Matrix.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Interface Management Plan, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure interface contributors have a shared plan for interface development according to overall Design Planning.
- Lead coordination meetings to resolve technical issues between different design teams and subcontractors.
- Act as the liaison between the client, designers, contractors, and third parties to manage expectations and ensure timely information exchange.
- Identify potential technical and commercial risks arising from interface issues and develop mitigation plans.
- Audit and formally close out all design interfaces upon completion.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- Proven experience in interface management or project engineering, within the rail industry.
- A solid understanding of railway systems (signalling, electrification, catenary, telecommunication) and construction processes.
- Experience in multidisciplinary project environments and working with international stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and experience in risk and change management.
- Proficiency in project management tools and the MS Office Suite.
- Fluent in English.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of French and Swedish is considered a plus.
