As an Interaction Designer in Newcastle, you’ll play a key role in developing user-centred digital solutions across a range of industries. Working within a close-knit UX team, you’ll design clear, accessible interfaces that balance user needs with business goals, using tools like Figma, Sketch, and InVision to bring ideas to life.
What You’ll Do
- Develop intuitive user journeys and interactive prototypes using industry-standard design software.
- Translate user research insights, analytics, and feedback into effective design solutions.
- Collaborate closely with User Researchers, Content Designers, Developers, and Product Owners to deliver cohesive digital experiences.
- Present design work to internal teams and client stakeholders, articulating decisions clearly and confidently.
- Contribute to the growth of the design community through knowledge sharing, design reviews, and team initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in interaction or digital design, with a portfolio demonstrating user-centred problem solving.
- Familiarity with design systems, style guides, and reusable component libraries.
- Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Sketch, and InVision, along with working knowledge of HTML, Markdown, or Nunjucks for prototyping.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to navigate stakeholder input while maintaining design integrity.
- Experience working in Agile environments as part of a cross-functional scrum team.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of accessibility principles and experience designing to meet WCAG 2.2 standards.
- History of contributing reusable components or patterns to shared design systems.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based at the Cobalt Business Park in Newcastle. You’ll be expected to work from the office three days per week, with flexibility required for occasional travel to client or partner locations. The role supports a balanced approach to work-life integration, with structured flexibility built into the schedule.
