About the Role

The Insurance Verification Specialist is responsible for confirming patient insurance information, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring claims are processed correctly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate patient insurance data prior to service delivery
  • Contact insurance providers to confirm coverage and benefits
  • Update records with accurate verification details in a timely manner
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in insurance eligibility
  • Communicate findings to internal teams for billing and scheduling
  • Maintain compliance with privacy regulations when handling personal data
  • Respond to inquiries from patients and providers regarding coverage status
  • Track and document all verification activities in the system
  • Assist in streamlining verification processes to reduce delays
  • Stay current with changes in insurance policies and procedures

Nice to Have

  • Associate degree in healthcare-related field
  • Experience with electronic eligibility platforms
  • Knowledge of coding systems such as CPT or ICD-10
  • Prior work in outpatient or clinic settings
  • Customer service experience in medical environments
