Responsibilities
- Manage insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution, including general liability, professional liability, and complex tort claims
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents with a high level of precision and advocacy
- Take and defend depositions, including experts and key parties, and represent clients in hearings and motion practice in state and federal courts
- Provide trial support, including strategy development, witness preparation, and trial execution
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategy, assess risk, and deliver practical legal solutions
- Communicate directly with carrier clients and insureds, providing updates, legal advice, and strategic guidance
- Stay current on developments in insurance defense litigation, incorporating industry trends into case strategy
Requirements
- At least 2+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation
- Strong academic credentials with excellent research and writing skills
- Experience with case management, drafting pleadings, and handling motions and depositions
- Admitted and in good standing in California
Nice to Have
- Trial and/or arbitration experience preferred
- Additional jurisdictions a plus
