Life360 is looking for an Instrumentation & Controls Designer to support the development of high-quality engineering solutions for data center projects. You will join a team-based, purpose-driven firm focused on leaving the world better than we found it.
What You'll Do
- Prepare design deliverables including Instrument Index, Instrument Data Sheets, Installation Details, and Wiring Diagrams.
- Develop control systems (DCS/PLC) documents such as I/O Lists, Process Control Narratives, and Cause & Effect Diagrams.
- Coordinate with third-party control system vendors and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
- Develop and review P&IDs for various projects.
- Select and size I&C components like valves, thermowells, and relief valves.
- Collaborate across disciplines to integrate designs and develop level sketches.
- Review vendor documentation and provide technical recommendations.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
- Ensure compliance with company and project site safety policies.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls design, preferably in data center or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and tools, including REVIT.
- Strong understanding of control systems (DCS/PLC), instrumentation technologies, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal teams and external vendors.
- A proactive mindset and commitment to delivering solutions that meet technical and safety requirements.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- An Associate's degree.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid role with locations including Fort Worth, TX; North Kansas City, MO; Omaha, NE; and remote options in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Tulsa, OK.
