Penn State University is looking for an Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor of Nursing to join our undergraduate nursing program. This is a full-time, 36-week term position based at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. The role is funded for one year from hire with strong potential for renewal.
What You'll Do
- Teach courses in the undergraduate nursing program during the fall and spring semesters
- Provide clinical instruction in medical-surgical nursing
- Advise students and engage in service through college and university committees
- Participate in scholarship and professional growth activities
What We're Looking For
- At least one graduate degree in nursing
- A valid RN license and eligibility for Pennsylvania RN licensure
- Documented evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and subject matter expertise
- Candidates with a master’s degree will be hired at the Instructor rank and must obtain a doctorate within five years of hire
Nice to Have
- Doctoral preparation, such as a DNP or PhD
- Candidates with a doctorate will be considered for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or higher, based on credentials
