Michigan State University is hiring a Fixed-Term Instructor / Assistant Professor / Professor to join its English language programs. This role focuses on teaching, with the specific rank determined by experience. You’ll contribute to our mission of supporting international students through high-quality English language instruction.
What You'll Do
- Teach in the Intensive English Program (IEP), the English for Academic Purposes program (EAP), and/or special contract programs.
- Attend organizational meetings and meetings related to skills coordination.
- Proctor the Michigan State University English Language Test (MSUELT).
- Be evaluated by Skills Coordinators and/or Teaching Coordinators.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's Degree is required for hiring at the Instructor rank.
- Excellent English communicative skills.
- Experience working with international students.
Nice to Have
- A Master’s degree in TESOL or a closely related field.
- For candidates with a BA: extensive ESL teaching experience and experience with constituents similar to those served by the ELC.
- Experience teaching outside of the U.S.
- Experience with ESL in Higher Education, credit and non-credit.
