Braze is hiring a Contract Instructional Designer to establish the frameworks and develop materials for high-quality educational experiences tailored to students with significant cognitive disabilities. This role will apply instructional design principles to optimize learning outcomes and enhance student achievement.
What You'll Do
- Create and iterate the design of K-5 learning content for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
- Utilize instructional design guidelines, theories, and methods to craft effective solutions.
- Plan the organization and structure of instructional materials, including scope and sequences and design matrices.
- Design quality educational experiences, focusing on structure, accessibility, engagement, interactivity, and continuity.
- Design assessments to accurately measure student outcomes and learning objectives.
- Collaborate with internal instructional designers for subject matter expertise and oversight.
- Support the content authoring process.
- Evaluate content to ensure it meets quality standards, academic standards, and company goals.
- Develop resources that incorporate evidence-based practices, promote engagement, and address diverse learning styles.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education, a related field, and/or a degree or certification in Instructional Design.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
Nice to Have
- Experience in curriculum mapping and/or curriculum development.
- Previous experience creating digital content in a content or learning management system.
