Okgov’s Innovation Division is looking for a Data Analyst to turn complex data into clear strategic guidance. In this role, you’ll work within the Data Analytics & Governance organization to identify key metrics, build reports and dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making across the agency.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with management and cross-functional teams to prioritize business needs and present data-driven recommendations.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data collection systems to optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
- Create clear visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights effectively.
- Identify data issues and recommend solutions to improve accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry regulations.
- Assist in developing and automating data analysis processes.
- Support strategic decision-making with data-driven insights.
What We're Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, information systems, or a related field plus two years of professional experience in statistical modeling or data analytics, or an equivalent combination.
- Knowledge of data processing hardware and software, systems analysis, project management, and organizational data flow.
- Knowledge of data modeling, mining, segmentation techniques, and data visualization best practices.
- Skills in analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving, and prioritizing work with competing deadlines.
- Skills in writing SQL queries and reports, data modeling in SQL or Python, and using GitHub for version control in a team environment.
- Skills in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating significant amounts of information with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, interpret policies, and solve complex problems using statistical analysis.
- Ability to clean and transform data sets and create charts and graphs using data visualization best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License.
- Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds, bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk, and reach.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Agile and Lean methodologies.
- Experience with Qlik Analytics, DBT, Snowflake, or Google BigQuery.
- Experience with predictive modeling in a production environment.
